So how can you keep your devices from overheating this summer? Here are a few tips and tricks:
#1 Stay away from the southern Midwest! Just kidding! With 100+ degree days and heat records being broken all over the world, we all need some tips to keep our most trusted device cool and functioning. Check out the list below.
- Avoid using your devices in direct sunlight. The sun’s rays can quickly heat up your devices, so it’s best to avoid using them in direct sunlight. If you must use your devices outside, find a shady spot.
- Keep your devices clean. Dust and dirt can trap heat, so it’s important to keep your devices clean. Use a soft cloth to wipe down your devices regularly.
- Vent your devices properly. Many devices have vents that allow heat to escape. Make sure these vents are not blocked by dust, dirt, or other objects.
- Use a cooling pad. If you’re using your devices for extended periods of time, you may want to consider using a cooling pad. This will help to dissipate heat and keep your devices running cooler.
- Close unused apps. When you’re not using an app, close it. This will free up resources and help to prevent your device from overheating.
- Update your devices’ software. Software updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements that can help to prevent overheating.
- Take a break. If your device is starting to overheat, take a break from using it. Let it cool down for a few minutes before using it again.
- Use a case that allows for airflow. Some cases can trap heat, making it more likely that your device will overheat. Look for a case that has vents or cutouts that allow for airflow.
- Place your devices in a cool, dry place. If you’re not using your devices, it’s best to store them in a cool, dry place. This will help to prevent them from overheating and getting damaged.
- Avoid using your devices in high-performance mode. If you don’t need to use your devices in high-performance mode, avoid doing so. This will help to reduce heat output.
- Monitor your devices’ temperatures. There are a number of apps that can help you to monitor your devices’ temperatures. This can be helpful in identifying potential overheating problems.
- If your device does overheat, take action immediately. If your device does overheat, take action immediately. Turn it off and let it cool down. Do not use it again until it has cooled down completely.
